Director of SEO Innovation

Farmer of vegetables and keywords, both organic.

Everett started doing SEO in 2006 for Associated Content, now Yahoo! Voices. He moved on to an SEO Specialist position with an online marketing agency before managing the search marketing department for a major online retailer in the health and fitness space for five years. He has also worked on a network of super affiliate websites and dozens of client sites in various competitive industries before joining seOverflow.

It's funny how things work out sometimes...

In 2006 Everett noticed that there were a lot of great marketing and development companies out there that didn't have a strong SEO department. Seeing this as an opportunity to provide a much needed white label search engine optimization outsourcing service, Everett registered seOverflow.com. He was hired to manage Gaiam's SEO department shortly after, and so the website sat unused and unloved for several months.

Meanwhile, Mike Belasco, who Everett had partnered with on some SEO contracts previously, had an unused SEO domain of his own. They decided to swap domains one day, and Mike started developing seOverflow into the leading SEO outsourcing agency that it is today. As for that other domain, Everett ended up donating it to the Denver Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO), which auctioned it off at a monthly meeting to help pay administrative costs.

So here we are six years later and Everett has joined seOverflow as the Director of SEO Strategy after sharpening his skills on enterprise-level eCommerce websites and hyper-competitive niches. In the process he has gained several years of managerial experience in a corporate environment and, for an agency Director, is in a unique position to understand the needs and roadblocks faced by managers in large organizations who outsource SEO and related tasks.
